Acoustic enclosures (also referred to as noise or sound enclosures) are a key design element in bringing industrial, process, and manufacturing facilities to safer noise levels for a healthier, more productive work environment.
Designed to isolate the noise source or protect the people impacted by it, a properly engineered acoustic enclosure will account for operator and maintenance access, ventilation, safety codes, air quality, egress, and future expansion needs. What are acoustic enclosures?
Acoustic enclosures consist of pre-engineered, modular acoustical metal panels that are configured and assembled into a wide variety of structures designed to isolate, reduce, and control excessive noise levels. These systems are used across industrial, commercial, institutional, and community environments.
Our modular acoustic panels are uniquely suited for applications requiring a high degree of noise reduction – 25 decibels (dB) or more – combined with rugged, long-lasting durability. A complete modular acoustic enclosure system can be customized to include:

- Noise-Foil System – Advanced sound absorption system reduces reverberant noise build-up within existing “hard” structures.
- Fire-Noise-Lock Construction – Optional configurations offer a certified 1.5-hour fire rating, with all components shipped with a UL label.

- Personnel Doors – Single- and double-leaf “Cam-Lift,” no-sill doors offering clear openings up to 8’ x 14’ (2,438 x 4,267 mm). Custom designs for larger opening are available.
- UL Fire-Rated Doors – 3-hour certified ratings available up to 42” x 90” (single-leaf, 1,067 x 2,286 mm) and 84” x 90” (double-leaf, 2,134 x 2,286 mm) clear openings.
- Acoustic Windows – Double-glazed window units that provide maximum visibility with zero loss of acoustic integrity.
- Safety Hardware – Built-in panic hardware and access plugs for rapid local access.
- Captive Hardware – Removable panel details engineered with fully captive hardware for simple maintenance access.
- Premium materials
- Standard Materials – Built with cold-rolled solid steel and galvanized steel, treated with a durable powder-coated finish.
- Optional Materials – Full galvanized construction or specialized stainless steel builds (contact IAC Acoustics for details).
- Blast Resistance – Moduline structures and components can be precision-engineered to withstand intense blast loads, ensuring doors remain fully operable after a blast event.
